Chinese American literature has become a hot topic in recent years. As a Chinese American writer, the "identity and racial ideas" in Chinese American literature are characterized by the cross-cultural writing in Maxine Hong Kingston's works. The root cause of this cross-cultural writing lies in her mixed cultural outlook between China and the United States. This paper attempts to analyze the historical background of the formation of Chinese American literature in the context of the oriental narrative of the United States, the struggle narrative of Chinese American literature in the context of the aphasia of Chinese Americans, and the identity constantly confirmed and constructed by Maxine Hong Kingston in her works, that is, "a balanced blend of Chinese and American mixed cultural identity". It is concluded that the premise of the formation of the mixed cultural view in her works is that Hong Kingston's Chinese culture origin is "one-sided and broken, which is the Chinese culture deconstructed, subverted and reconstructed on the basis of the mainstream American values." The reason is to cater to and fight against the mainstream culture. As well as the writing strategies adopted to fight for the right of discourse, namely, the three writing strategies selected under the control of the mixed cultural concept, namely, "shaping the mixed characters of eastern and western cultures", "combining Chinese narrative techniques with western narrative strategies", "collecting scattered historical materials and rewriting history", and the effects of these strategies.
